Tour Itinerary
We start with hotel pick-ups, and then we drive through the stunning Ecuadorian highlands, where breathtaking panoramas await at every turn. Our destination? The remarkable Ingapirca Ruins, a historic Inca-Cañari fortress built by sun worshippers in the heart of the Southern Andes. It's considered to be Ecuador's foremost archeological treasure, this site showcases the incredible engineering skills of this civilization.
Our excursion continues to the charming Chordeleg and Gualaceo craft-making villages, where we will have lunch. Our menu includes an appetizer, a main course, a soft drink, and a small dessert. We accommodate vegetarian and vegan options upon request. We will then visit Chordeleg, a beautiful town known for its skilled jewelers and artisans. Here you'll have leisure time to explore the town's atmosphere and maybe do some shopping. Whether you aim to hunt for the perfect souvenir or just delve into exploration, this is a splendid stop.
Next, we will visit Gualaceo's colonial plaza, where history and charm intermingle. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee or for the adventurous to try the traditional Rosero beverage and experience the authentic Ecuadorian flavors.
Our last stop will be Jose Jimenez's ikat workshop, where you will witness the meticulous process of weaving fine shawls and textiles on backstrap looms and dyed pigments extracted from native plants. This technique has been passed down through multiple generations.
